The Honey Project
Although we can't source the majority of our honey from Vermont, we are huge fans of local beekeeping operations, and we've looked for ways to support them since our founding.
In the fall of 2019, we finally landed on an amazing opportunity to help local apiaries, home meadmakers, and support environmentally friendly honey production! We very cleverly named the project: The Honey Project.

How it works.
We work with small producers (under $10,000 in honey sales per year) to connect them directly with the homebrewing community here in Vermont.
Homebrewers sign up to buy a certain amount of honey in increments of 10 lbs. We then provide the beekeeper with reusable bulk packaging which has a much smaller environmental impact compared to the glass jars that most of them have to use otherwise. The homebrewer pays $4/lb for the honey, we then kick in an additional $1/lb so that the beekeeper makes $5/lb for their honey.
We then help to coordinate delivery of the honey to the homebrewers after the harvest.
