Open Source

We are proud to be an open-source brewery.

All of our recipes are free online.
Our brewing techniques are also publicly available.
And we lecture all the time about our innovative, super-efficient brewing system.

Why are you open source?

We decided at our inception to be open source for three reasons:

1. We love craft mead, and we want more people to make it, whether it's at home or at other meaderies.
2. Some of the things we've learned over the years are pretty innovative, like our heat recovery system. We'd love to see more alcohol producers putting these systems into place to help conserve our natural resources.
3. We want to be as transparent as possible. This is the same reason that we became a B Corp, even with their mandatory disclosure policy. We've had some rough days, but we believe that we're all better off learning from our mistakes.
